No CommentsEARSC is running the “partnership” competition recognising and rewarding outstanding collaboration in public-private partnerships for the Copernicus user-uptake. Specifically, Copernicus networks organizations and Companies (in partnership) will be encouraged to submit a proposal for cooperation or present an already established collaboration achievement “from Research to Market”. The winner partnership will be recognized and promoted by EARSC in their network.

EARSC EO Product Award 2021

EARSC EO product award for 2021 will recognise a product which will support overall sustainable development projects or the implementation of the SDGs at national, regional and/or local levels, with EO services helping on the monitoring and reporting against the goals, targets or the global indicator framework.
In 2015, countries adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include a broad range of sustainable development issues; ending poverty and hunger, improving health and education, making cities more sustainable, combating climate change, and protecting oceans and forests.

New year, new EUSPA – bespoke synergies with multiple (space) users

The first EOcafe of the year 2021 provoked a great deal of interest with over 200 joining us in the virtual cafe to hear about the new European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). It is fair to affirm that the (European) space community is eagerly awaiting the entrance of this new player and its influence in the future of the EU space programme activities, especially for Copernicus. Once the new European Space Legislation is adopted, the current European GNSS Agency (GSA) will be transformed into the EUSPA with its responsibilities extended beyond the current role of market development of EGNOS and Galileo.

AI4EO is an initiative by the European Space Agency’s Φ -lab, to better connect the artificial intelligence (AI) and Earth observation (EO) domains. The Φ-lab’s mission is to accelerate the future of earth observation, by helping Europe’s earth observation and space researchers and companies adopt disruptive technologies and methods.
