We will explain how openEO enables access to big Earth observation processing services in the cloud in a simple and unified way. openEO decouples the concerns of the end users from the complexity and big data challenges of the computing backend. The standardized openEO API that sits in between brings many benefits for both the end user and data/processing provider.

The Forest and Climate Change Unit at GAF AG has been involved in the past 15 years, with the application of Earth Observation and spatial analytical tools to resolve forest monitoring challenges globally. Our work focusses on supporting countries implement improved forest management, forest and biodiversity restoration and improving the livelihoods of communities. By doing so we are also supporting countries fulfill their obligations to reducing GHG emissions as part of the Paris Agreement in the forest and land use domain.

EARSC is running the “partnership” competition recognising and rewarding outstanding collaboration in public-private partnerships for the Copernicus user-uptake. Specifically, Copernicus networks organizations and Companies (in partnership) will be encouraged to submit a proposal for cooperation or present an already established collaboration achievement “from Research to Market”. The winner partnership will be recognized and promoted by EARSC in their network.

The European Space Agency and the WorldWater project with support from CNES, NASA, EARSC, CEOS and GEO invite interested parties to express their interest in participating in a Round Robin inter-comparison of inland surface water detection and monitoring algorithms using Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8 imagery.

Data is at the core of the 2030 Agenda. Its success depends on the availability of high quality, timely and universally accessible data.
