Spacemetric is a Swedish software company which streamlines the transformation of raw data from satellite and airborne sensors into imagery products ready for analytics.
PAZ to extend Airbus radar satellite constellation for improved monitoring capabilities by end of 2017
Friedrichshafen, 21 March 2017 – PAZ, the satellite owned by the Spanish company Hisdesat, will soon increase the monitoring resources of the Airbus radar satellites constellation. Following its launch during the last quarter of 2017, PAZ will be positioned in the same orbit as the German owned TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X satellites and form a high-resolution SAR satellite constellation with them. The addition of this third satellite will reduce revisit time and increase acquisition capacity, leading to subsequent benefits to various applications. All three satellites will feature exactly identical ground swaths and acquisition modes. The new setup will be jointly exploited by Hisdesat and Airbus Defence and Space.
GEO Secretariat helped the GEO community to organize and respond to the Call for Collaborative Data Innovations launched by the Global Partnership on Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD) and the World Bank last year. Recently the result was announced. Ten projects were funded and DHI GRAS together with the University of Twente and the European Space Agency have been funded to develop a project on Wetlands Monitoring with Earth Observation Data. the Lead Organization is Ramsar Center for Eastern Africa and the location will be Uganda

The Swedish National Space Board (SNSB) has accepted the delivery of the Copernicus Data Hub from Spacemetric.
The Copernicus Data Hub, referred as SWEA, is a system in Sweden for long-term storage and distribution of imagery from the Sentinel satellites of the European Copernicus programme for Earth Observation. Following the successful acceptance, Spacemetric is seeking new ways of introducing the Copernicus Data Hub in other countries as well as adapting it for the upcoming DIAS procurement from ESA.
