Japan Drone 2016, the first RPAS conference & exhibition in Japan, took place at the Markuhari Messe in Chiba (Tokyo), Japan on 24-26 March 2016.
This event was organized by the Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (JUIDA), Congress Corporation, Japan, and Space Media Japan Co., Ltd.

(March 16th 2016) Earth observation experts, educators, researchers and scientists from 19 universities across the continent met at the Namibia University of Science and Technology this week for a weeklong exchange of information on the subject of Earth observation and space technology, as part of the Monitoring of Environment and Security in Africa (MESA) university training workshop.
Context and Challenge
The results of the joint NEREUS-ESA project Improving Copernicus among Local and Regional Authorities will be presented on Tuesday 28th of June 2016 at the European Parliament, during an event under the auspices of Patrizia Toia, Member of European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the ITRE Committee.
The 2016 EUMETSAT Meteorological Satellite Conference will take place in EUMETSAT’s home town of Darmstadt in Germany from 26 to 30 September 2016. This is particularly fitting as 2016 sees the 30th anniversary of EUMETSAT’s establishment in 1986.
On 4 March 2016, a EUROCAE UAS/RPAS Workshop took place at EUROCONTROL headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
New challenges and opportunities arise as Europe’s Copernicus programme continues to launch the Sentinel satellites, converting their data into accessible products that can benefit citizens. The Space App Camps give developers the chance to deliver data from these and other satellites to the everyday user, via mobile apps.
Following a round of public pitches and jury deliberation, the winners of the Space App Camp were announced at the SAP stand on February 22.

Five startup companies will present their game changing Earth observation services delivered by the European Copernicus programme on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform at the SAP booth at Mobile Word Congress (MWC 2016).
EUMETSAT is preparing to exploit the Copernicus satellite (Sentinel-3A) on behalf of the European Union, in cooperation with ESA.
Under the Copernicus agreement it signed with the European Commission on 7 November 2014, EUMETSAT will be the operator of the Sentinel-3A satellite and will deliver its marine mission on behalf of the European Union, in cooperation with ESA.
