EARSC takes part in a web-event “Geospatial Information for Digital Transformation” by the Norwegian Mapping Authority

Save the dates for the web-event “Geospatial Information for Digital Transformation” by the Norwegian Mapping Authority. Marc Tondriaux, the EARSC’s Board of Directors’ Chairman, will be presenting at the conference Day 3 (Friday 29th October) at 10am (CET) in the session on Future trends.

During past 20 years, the Norwegian Mapping Authority has been implementing capacity development projects in Eastern Europe, West Balkans, Central Asia, and other regions. This capacity development has focused on the establishment of national spatial data infrastructures, delivery of core geospatial datasets, building-up technical and professional capacity, contributing to economic growth and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

Every year since 2016, regional conferences took place in one of the beneficiary countries. Due to the pandemic, the event in Kyrgyzstan in 2020 was cancelled.

This year, the regional conference will be held over three days in a hybrid form, and it will be focused on the importance of geospatial information in the digital transformation.

Programme

Day 1 will look upon land specific examples of the development of national geospatial ecosystems using the IGIF – Integrated Geospatial Information Framework.

Day 2 will focus on the role and benefits of geospatial data for society.

Day 3 will look at new technologies and emerging application areas – Geospatial data and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins and Hybrid Approaches for Sustainable Base Mapping.
