Start: Thursday, 15 October 2020 09:00 EDT
End: Friday, 16 October 2020 06:00 EDT
‘New Space’ is a paradigm driven by a combination of technology and market advances such as rocket launches, small satellites, orbital planes, evolving sensors, and ground infrastructures. With this in mind, the location community must have a platform for understanding the impacts of New Space on standards, data integration and decision making.
Join OGC and EARSC for a two-day session from a global perspective revolving around impacts, dynamics, and standards in New Space that highlights these new technologies, the information powering them, and how they are integrated.
The event will be a follow-on from OGC’s first New Space Workshop that happened in May, 2020.
Session One – 15. October – afternoon session on “From Data to Markets”
15:00 – 15:15 (CET) Welcome and Intros
15:15 – 15:30 Keynote 1
15:30 – 16:15 Panel discussion one – Geodata new marketplace
16:15 – 17:00 Panel discussion two – Cloud based data services
Session Two – 16. October – morning session on “Integrating New Data Diversity”
10:00 – 10:15 (CET) Welcome and Intros
10:15 – 10:30 Keynote 2
10:30 – 11:15 Panel discussion three – integration of sensors of various platforms
11:15 – 12:00 Panel discussion four (Lighting talks)
New Space technologies and standards are as powerful as the organizations behind them. During this 45 minute session, multiple organizations involved in New Space will provide five minute ‘lightning’ discussions about how their organizations are pushing the boundaries of data value.
To submit an entry for a New Space Workshop Lightning Talk, provide a lighting abstract highlighting (max 200 words) your organization or technology to OGC by Wednesday 30 September, 2020.
