Upgrade of the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service

A new version of the global monitoring and forecasting system of the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) is now operational.

This system routinely combines daily observations with the previous day’s forecast to provide the so-called analysis and the forecast for the next 5 days.

The main components of this upgrade consist of the introduction of new satellite data (MODIS Deep Blue and GOME-2 SO2), improvement of the wildfire emissions, improvement of the UV processor that estimates spectral Ultra-Violet radiation at the Earth’s surface, and various improvements to the representation of meteorological process
