Shanghai World Expo 2010: Let´s embrace space

Space is full of endless possibilities. As a major space power, the European Union supports research that takes on global challenges for sustainable development.

Europe is home to a large, hi-tech aerospace industry that supplies a significant part of the world’s commercial requirements for satellite manufacture, launch and services, and the European Union is devoting important research funds to space research activities.

A conference will focus on how space research furthers enhanced climate monitoring and better air quality, contributing to the development of better and more sustainable cities. International cooperation is paramount for such research.

In the past, EU space research projects have successfully brought Chinese and European scientists together; the conference will explore new opportunities for further enhancing this positive record.
