ESA is regularly publishing “Briefs” that present concrete applications of Copernicus/GMES, the Earth monitoring programme managed by the European Commission.
During the last three months, seven new “Briefs” have been published. The most recent ones (January 2013) are addressing the following applications:
- Observation of the availability and quality of European surface freshwater reservoirs (rivers and lakes)
- Monitoring of the extent and effects of sea level rise in Europe’s low-lying coastal areas
- Contribution to space-based weather prediction through the monitoring of the atmosphere composition and the state of the Earth’s surface
