Geocento, creator and provider of the online search engine for worldwide available satellite imagery, will be providing visitors to the forthcoming Esri European Petroleum GIS Conference with a preview look at their latest platform.
EarthImages allows users to discover what satellite imagery is available for their area of interest from suppliers all over the world and from a vast range of sensors. With more and more satellites being launched the simple to use web-based service will be of great value to oil and gas companies whose activities extend all over the globe.
Commenting on how EarthImages adds real value to oil and gas workflows, GeoCento Managing Director Kim Partington commented; “EarthImages provides broad, supplier agnostic access to image search and planning over the web, covering both existing catalogues and new tasking, enabling users to be confident that they are optimising their use of this technology both in terms of cost and performance. As a new ESRI partner, we are now working to make this capability available also from ArcGIS to integrated satellite image planning within the leading GIS environment.”
