We would like to draw your attention to the forthcoming conference “Contracting for Space – Space Project Management” to be held at the premises of DLR Bremen, Germany, on the 17th November 2011. Arrangements are made for a pre-conference dinner on the evening of the 16th November.
The conference addresses various aspects of space project management from a technical, financial, legal and policy perspective and is geared to those interested in obtaining closer insights into organising and completing space projects successfully. The conference will be addressed by high-level speakers from ESA, ESPI, system prime companies, operators, consultants and academia, discussing best practices and lessons learned in space project management.
Legal project management is but one of the overall management aspects relevant to European Space Projects. Project Managers require the skills and tools for the successful control of technical performance, risks, schedule, costs and quality assurance in a highly complex political and regulatory environment, often within culturally diversified international teams.
The conference is also designed to mark the publication of the book ‘Contracting for Space – Contract Practice in the European Space Sector’. The book offers a systematic overview and analysis of the complex legal and contractual issues relevant to European space projects.
Details of registration and programme itself can be obtained from the dedicated conference website www.contracting-for-space.eu.
Registration will open soon.
Further details of how to order the book are available at www.ashgate.com.
Please note that a limited number of rooms has been reserved at the Atlantic Hotel Universum Bremen. If you wish to obtain preferential rates, you must register directly with the hotel giving the keyword ‘Contracting for Space’.
We look forward to welcoming you all on the 17th November
