SERTIT-ULP (Observer)

SERTIT is a leading RS organisation in rapid mapping & risk applications. Sertit is a public establishment and as such a valorisation service of the Universit?‡ Louis Pasteur of Strasbourg, France. It is a resource centre in EO image processing applications and geo-information integration into GIS. SERTIT has much experience, over a long period, in the environmental, land planning, natural risk management application domains (ARGISIP, PACTES, GENESIS, RISK-EOS1, RESPOND1, ?Ò). Moreover SERTIT has set up, in the framework of an ESA EOMD, an operational EO-based service for rapid mapping, to support decision makers during natural disasters, which has been activated more than 30 times for the International Charter ?®Space and Major Disasters?∆ covering different types of events, e.g.: the September 2002 Gard (France) flood, the Algerian earthquake of May 2003, the Dominican Republic floods in December 2003, the South of France floods in December 2003, the Bam, Iran, earthquake in December 2003, the Al – Hoceima (Marocco) earthquake in February 2004, ?Ò, and more recently, the South-East Asia Tsunami event of December 2004, the Katrina Hurricane in August 2005 and the effects of the South-Asia Earthquake in Pakistan in October 2005.
